FWIW, I'm just about to post another patch on Rom Hacking to make the game just easy enough that you need almost no grinding, which means you can face enemy apprentices at lower levels, where they're easier to beat. Final Fantasy had already been around for a few years, but you still had many other developers doing their own thing as many of the genre’s current cliches and design standards hadn’t been fully embraced yet. Posted by 1 year ago. If you were to play it, I would recommend finding a translated copy of Elnard over 7th Saga, as I can say that I did very very little grinding (only once, for 20 minutes). One of the few games that thoroughly humiliated me and sent me running with my tail between my legs. I beat the final boss on my first try, but it was all a challenge. I watched my older bro play through this a lot when I was a kid, but never could get very far on my own. That said, Elnard looks cooler than 7th Saga, particularly with Wilme sans loincloth and evil(er)-looking Lejes. 7th Saga was one of my favorite games as a kid. Never beat it, but I love this game.
