You Only Live Twice 4. We love that latter version, of course, but Russia proved that a straightforward spy thriller equally suited the secret agent.—DF. | The action opens with that staggering skiing-off-a-cliff stunt, just after Moore is seen supposedly skiing in front of an obvious back projection. 134 min Peter Sellers, That ranking is pretty stupid. While Goldeneye is a far better movie, The World Is Not Enough features Brosnan's best performance as Bond. The third James Bond movie in 1964 firmly establishes the formula for these films for a number of decades. |

It’s too bad we both are’nt writers who could take our ideas to the Bond-people. Director:

145,920 WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH- ( Over the top , but again quite likeable) I’ve seen lists I disagree with, and everything of course is subjective in these lists, but wow. James Bond woos a mob boss' daughter and goes undercover to uncover the true reason for Ernst Stavro Blofeld's allergy research in the Swiss Alps involving beautiful women from around the world. : John Glen Who doesn’t love James Bond? the film, but it felt overshadowed by the plot with Silva, who came

As for how many ‘missed opportunities’…I don’t know where to start, other than a very tastefully done moment where Bond picks up a dusty VHS-cassette tape labled: ‘Vesper Lynn – Interrogation’ where he stares at it for a moment…a very interesting shot of his trademark ‘unreadable’ expression, then he carelessly tosses it back on the table. Alas, she never gets the chance to truly vamp. Lazenby was a better bond. 22 –> 4.5/10 –> ‘You Only Live Twice’ Action was breathtaking. What do they imagine it was like in the days of “Unforgiven”? Two cowboys kissing – eeee-yooo. QUANTUM OF SOLACE- (Some boring stretches, but again watchable) The Bond girl: Stronger and more sun-kissed than most of her kin, Claudine Auger’s Domino represents an early evolution of the archetype, handy with a harpoon gun and a playful match with Connery.

5. LIVING DAY LIGHTS (Dalton was a very serious BOND, especially after MOORE, a bit slow, but still liked it) Unless they were aiming to pull more Urban ‘twenty-somethings’ into the theatres, I just don’t see how ‘Post-Modern/Urban hip-hop’ interfaces with the Bond-universe in any way, shape or form. I also hated Gerry Lewis.

YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE- My least favorite of the good Connery Bond films, but still fun. Don’t take our word for it—here’s Radiohead’s version.

First time ever and the best time I ever had in a monie theatre .

10 –> 7.4/10 –> ‘The Living Daylights’ With the news of Danny Boyle’s departure as director of the next 007 instalment, we rank the big-screen outings of Britain’s finest, from 1962’s Dr No to 2015’s Spectre, Fri 24 Aug 2018 09.38 BST Goldfinger is my favorite. The stunts hold up, but Moore is on the exit ramp and his flaccid relationship with 24-year-old Carole Bouquet is a deathly embarrassment. Over-the-top to the Nth degree, Tomorrow Never Dies is a masterful exercise in action cinema. He took to Bond like a duck to water: virile, cool, nice suits. I regard this as one of the better Bonds. No…putting Guy Pierce in a Bond film (either as a double-o or as ‘Spectre-esche’ villain would be like…putting raw-honey in a cup of coffee. Mathieu Amalric, Oscar nominees - the weirdest ever - ranked! Strange esoteric movies, French films, etc. And now that I think of it, I might also enjoy the idea of Jim Caviesel as a double-o…I’m thinking back to his presense on ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’ (rather than Christ, in ‘The Passion’) but before anyone beats me to it, NO, I would NOT want to see Guy Pierce as a double-o. James Bond is sent to investigate the connection between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond mogul, who is funding the development of an international space weapon. Léa Seydoux, The song was ALL about ‘M’.

Artsy isn’t the word I might’ve come up with; I prefer ‘melancholy’ as the best way to describe Skyfall. Cheesy to the extreme, but funnily so. Skyfall had a lot of really bad choreography, with Bond needlessly exposing himself to gunfire, etc. Sky fall was an effort to raise a character study.
