Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. “Observe the month of Abib and keep the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night.

In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.
And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
‣ And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him. Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel [above the door] of the houses in which they eat it. That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.
When you come together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat.
And if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor shall take according to the number of persons; according to what each can eat you shall make your count for the lamb. For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem had taken counsel to keep the Passover in the second month— for they could not keep it at that time because the priests had not consecrated themselves in sufficient number, nor had the people assembled in Jerusalem— and the plan seemed right to the king and all the assembly. And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.
And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
The next day, when the large crowd who had come to the Passover feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. When Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples, “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.” Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him. Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household. ‣
“On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Lord's Passover.
I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.’” And the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they prepared the Passover. As a result, the Passover service was prepared, the priests took their assigned places, and the descendants of Levi stood in their divisions as the king had commanded. And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”. And when you come to the land that the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this service. And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover unto the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this covenant.
And you shall let none of it remain until the morning; anything that remains until the morning you shall burn.
The Passover event, therefore, became the defining act of God that secured their freedom from slavery. For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were clean.
And they slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the first month. The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are.
Signs, Signs, Everywhere are Signs. And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: Then, taking a Passover biscuit, He gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is being given on your behalf: this do in remembrance of me.". By placing the blood over the entrance to their homes, the people were symbolizing their trust in the blood of the sacrifice. They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. Jesus deliberately chose to be crucified during the Passover observance. If a stranger shall sojourn with you and would keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised. Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month. And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. By asking that we eat of the bread and drink of the cup, Jesus left a reminder of His willing sacrifice–the foundation for the forgiveness of sins.
What we call the “Last Supper” (or “Lord’s Supper”) that Jesus shared with His disciples was the Passover meal being observed by all of the Jews that same evening.
